A few
Experiences We've Created

Pillow Fight Club
How do you surprise Fight Club author & former performance artist Chuck Palahniuk at the 25th anniversary showing of his iconic film?
By staging a surprise pink pillow fight in the front row!
Dozens of Experience Scouts arrived with fake injuries and waged squishy war before the film began.
It's About Time
When the International Time Travelers Guild meets, adventures ensue.
Read more below.

Members of the fictitious Guild gathered in black-and-white costumed glory at the San Francisco Ferry Building Clocktower to:
♫ Share artifacts and culture from their time periods
🛥️ Cross the waters of time (aka the San Francisco Bay) via ferry
📖 Share deep and funny moment-in-time stories
🕺 Perform the Guild's official dance (the Time Warp, of course!)
👣 Follow cryptic, time-themed clues from the future to the top of the famous Oakland Tribune clocktower for a 360-degree view
Along the way, we reimagined and repurposed 8+ iconic public landmarks and sites, including:
The San Francisco Ferry Building & Clocktower · The TransBay Ferry · Jack London Square · Reinhold's Last Chance Saloon · Oakland's Chinatown · Downtown Oakland · The Oakland Tribune Tower & Clocktower
A Fully Collaborative Experience:
Almost two dozen co-creator attendees took a leap of faith to join us on this adventure. They created new characters, rich storylines, time-related games, activities, and interactive art pieces. The world-building for It's About Time would not have been complete without their presence, costumes, and creativity!
This site-specific, interactive event was designed to:
-
Test the boundaries of co-created, low-budget, site-specific experiences
-
Reimagine public and private spaces in fun new ways
-
Invite attendees to be a critical, autonomous part of the experience
-
Bring a dose of whimsy and surprise to the local community
Special thanks to Experience Scouts’ co-founders Melanie Goodwin, Audette Sophia, and Kim Sykes along with collaborators John Law, Barron Scott Levkoff, Sue Yerou, and Erin Elliott.
